The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with area schools for the Handle with Care program.
It’s a way to protect kids who have been exposed to violence or other trauma.
Authorities will communicate with schools in a private way to let administrators and staff know if a kid has gone through a form of violence or trauma, that way the staff will understand a child’s actions and be able to respond better.
Sheriff Todd Gibson sits down with KOCO’s Maggie Carlo to explain this program.
